YOUNG ADULT CRITERIA
To be part of UCLA’s PEERS®program, young adults need to meet the following criteria:
- Participants are aged between 18 – 35 years
- Need to have proficient skills in the recognition and management of their emotions
- Be interested in learning how to make and keep friends, and how to manage conflict and other social challenges.
- Have difficulties socialising with peers
- Diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1), Anxiety Disorders and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are welcome
- Be willing to embrace individual strengths and interests to overcome social challenges
- Must be motivated to attend the program
- Must be willing to attend voluntarily
- Must be able to attend every session of the program
- Be eager to learn through discussion and activities
- Be willing to practice skills with social coaches
- Must have a consistent social coach willing to attend the program each week.
