Psychology Services
Psychological support can look different for every person. At The Social Space, we provide individualised psychological care for children, teenagers, young adults and adults, with support shaped around each person's needs, strengths, circumstances and goals.
Our psychologists work across emotional wellbeing, anxiety, behaviour, relationships, neurodiversity, life transitions and other psychological concerns, using evidence-informed approaches within a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child or your family, we can help you explore the type of care that may be most appropriate.

Individual Psychological Care
Therapy is at the heart of our psychology services.
Rather than applying the same approach to every person, our psychologists consider the individual's age, developmental stage, strengths, preferences, environment and goals when planning support.
Depending on the person and their needs, therapy may focus on areas such as:
For children and young people in particular, therapy may incorporate play, movement, games, interests, technology and practical activities where clinically appropriate, helping psychological support feel more accessible and relevant to the individual.
Understanding the Whole Picture
Sometimes the first step is developing a clearer understanding of what is happening.
Psychological assessment can help identify an individual's pattern of strengths, challenges and support needs and, where appropriate, explore questions relating to Autism, ADHD and other areas of psychological or developmental functioning.
Our assessment process brings together relevant information to develop practical recommendations that may help guide support across everyday environments.

Beyond Individual Therapy
Psychological support does not always need to remain within the therapy room.
For some people, individual therapy may be the right support on its own. For others, there can be value in opportunities to learn, practise and apply skills alongside others or within everyday environments.
This is where The Social Space offers something broader.
Alongside individual psychology services, our clinic provides structured group programs, workshops, social opportunities and school and community programs. These create different ways to engage with psychological support depending on the individual's goals and circumstances.
Importantly, these services do not represent a fixed pathway. They can be accessed independently or, where appropriate, complement individual psychological care.
Our Approach
One of the strengths of having different forms of psychological support within the same clinic is flexibility.
A child may begin with individual therapy and later benefit from practising friendship skills within a structured group. A teenager may access a focused workshop during an important transition. A family may seek assessment to better understand their child's needs. A school may work with our team to reinforce skills within the school environment.
Equally, someone may only ever need one of these services.
Our role is not to move people through a predetermined pathway. It is to provide different evidence-informed options and work collaboratively to consider what may be useful for the individual at that point in time.
“The right support is not always one service. It is having options that can respond to the person, their goals and the environments that matter to them.”
